How to add a domain?


You can add a domain in two simple steps

Redirecting the domain to the correct IP address

Log in to your domain provider’s website, then redirect

record A to the following IP address: 164.132.116.247

Remember that you should redirect only the record A. Do not change DNS addresses (ns1, ns2). A record should be redirected for both – domain with www and without www.

If you need help, please contact your domain provider.

After domain redirection and propagation, set the selected domain like the main one in your Shoplo dashboard.

Go to Settings > Domains> Click on the pencil right next to the domain > activate your domain as the main domain and save changes.

How to check if your domain has been correctly redirected?

Go to  who.is and enter your domain name. Select the DNS Records tab.

Check if the record A for your domain and domain with ‘www’ is redirected to the IP address: 164.132.116.247

If you don’t see those records, it could mean that:

  • domain has been redirected incorrectly
  • or is still waiting for propagation.

 


Add a domain in Shoplo dashboard

Go to Settings > Domains > Click on + Add Domain

Click on I have my own domain

Type your domain name, but don’t select it as your main domain yet. You will only do this after you have redirected record A from the recorder.

Remember to add your domain with and without www.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to redirect the domain?

The redirection of the domain depends on your domain provider. It may take from 15 minutes to 24 hours.

Why is my Shoplo domain displayed on my store address even though I set up the domain redirection?

It is a common problem, while redirection is still in progress. As mentioned above, redirection may take up to 24 hours, depending on your domain provider. That is why we do not recommend making your newly added domain as the main domain immediately.

Why is my Shoplo domain still not displaying correctly after 24 hours?

Usually, web browsers load web content not directly from the source but from the web browser cache. In other words, if your domain redirected you to Shoplo website, you should clean your browsing history, cookies and cache in your browser.

If you’ve already waited over 24 hours and the website is still not displaying correctly, we recommend contacting your domain host.
