GDPR


From May 25, 2015, the new regulation GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) will be implemented.

In order to adapt to this new regulation, we have made the necessary changes to our platform.

In this article you will learn:

In the Advanced and higher plans, you can allow customers to create an account in your store. Customers can remove their own accounts, change the granted consent, download the terms of business and privacy policy in PDF format and download information about their personal data processed by the store in the ZIP file.


How to add and enable the download of Terms of Business and Privacy Policy as a PDF?

1. Prepare the Terms of Business and Privacy Policy and save them in a PDF format.

2. In your Admin panel, go to Settings > Files and then add the Terms of Business and Privacy Policy as a PDF file.

3. Then go to Settings > General > Terms of Business and select the appropriate PDF files from the drop-down menu.


Where can customers download the Privacy Policy and Terms of Business in PDF format?

After logging in to their accounts, your customers can download both files in PDF format. Remember that you must first add the files according to the instructions on the previous step.


How can customers change the permissions they’ve granted to your store?

After logging in to their account, customers should press the Edit button. Then they can select or deselect the option to accept newsletters.


How can customers delete their own accounts?

After logging in to their accounts, customers should press the Edit button. Then, at the bottom of the page, they can click Delete account.


How to generate a ZIP file with all the processed information about a customer?

In the admin panel, go to Customers > Select  a customer > Click on the three dots > Click on Generate report


How can customers download a ZIP file with all their customer data that is kept in your store?

After logging in to their account, customers should press the Edit button. Then they can click on Download at the bottom of the page.

Checkboxes are available automatically on all new themes. If you use an older theme then you can download a new theme, add your own HTML code or write to [email protected] and we will add the checkbox for you :).

Checkboxes when registering a customer account

In the Advanced and higher plans, you have the option to include customer accounts. If you did not personalise the customer account page, the required checkboxes will appear automatically. If you did change the page layout, you should either add this functionality yourself or write to us at [email protected] and we will help you.

In the consent text, we will link to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Business in PDF format. Remember to add these files and then select them in General Settings. Learn here how to do it.
